We recently went to Kailua, Hi, on Oahu to photograph a wedding. We had a great time with this couple, they were so much fun and so in love! (Which makes for awesome images!) Sonia has been a part of our studio family for a little bit now, and we definitely consider her and her family as part of our personal family. We have had the pleasure of photographing Olivia since she was a newborn. Now she has a new little brother, Owen, who is 2 months old and we just recently photographed his newborn pictures. They returned to the studio to have pictures taken for their family Christmas card. I love it when I get to see the children grow and go through their little stages. Spicy Shrimp Recipe

I love to cook different types of food. I recently had my niece and Justin's (my son) girlfriend over and we cooked chinese food. I had taken a chinese cooking class some 25 years ago and found the recipes. I remember how good some of the recipes were and wanted to share the recipes with them. It seriously took us over 4 hours to prepare, cook and serve the food. We were exhausted by the end of the evening! Here is one of dishes we fixed, very yummy!!

ingredients:
1 lb. medium shelled shrimp
Mixture 1: 1/3 tsp. salt, 1/2 tbls. rice wine, 1 tbls. cornstarch, 1 tbls. water
oil for deep-frying
2 egg yolks
cornstarch for coating
Mixture 2: 1 Tbl. chopped garlic, 2 Tbl. chopped green onion, 1 tsp. chopped ginger root, 1 Tbls. hot chili paste
Mixture 3: 2 Tbls. catsup, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 Tbls vinegar, 1 tbls. sugar, 1 tsp. cornstarch, 4 tbls. water, 1/2 tsp. sesame oil

1. Devein shrimp. Mix with a little salt, rinse lightly. Drain and pat dry with paper towels. Mix with mixture 1. Marinate al least 1 hour. Keep in refrigerator. Before cooking, add egg yolks and mix well, then coat with cornstarch.
2. Heat pan over high heat, add oil and heat to hot, deep-fry shrimp for about 2 minutes until golden colored. Remove and drain. Pour off all but 2 Tbls. oil from pan.
3. Reheat oil to hot, stir-fry mixture 2 ingredients for a few seconds until fragrant, pour in ready combined mixture #3 to the pan, bring to boil. Add shrimp, stir-fry until shrimp is coated with sauce.

Remove to platter and serve. Makes 6 servings..

I had taken my cousin Patrick's family picture a few years ago in San Francisco, this time around we were able to take their picture in San Jose. With our recent trip to northern Cali, we stopped in Modesto to photograph Little girl A. We brought along some of our clothing that we provide in the studio. She absolutely loved all the outfits, and at one point she had said that she loved her "gifts" (meaning our outfits)! We had a hard time explaining to her that we still needed the "gifts" for other little girls that want to dress up pretty too. LOL... she hesitantly took them off and gave them back to us. I told her that she will be able to see her in the pretty dresses in pictures, not sure if she understood though. Here are some of our favorites from her session.

We love photographing newborns! There is just something special about these sessions that words can't describe. Our sessions last anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours, this usually gives us enough time for baby feeding and changing breaks. Our studio is kept at a warm temperature which is very comfortable for the babies but sometimes not quite so comfy for moms and dads. But then again... who are we trying to make happy in these sessions? :) Here is a recent newborn session we had in the studio. This is baby number 2 from one of our clients.

One of Dr. Ben Larrabee's othodontic cases makes cover of American Journal of Orthodontics

When Dr. Ben Larrabee finishes an orthodontic case, I get the pleasure of photographing them! One of his cases made the front cover of the American Journal of Orthodontics! The case report was accepted for publication to describe the successful treatment of a 20 year old patient who had an underbite. Based on Dr. Larrabee's outcome, it can be claimed that an effective incorporation of miniscrews can help eliminate some surgical procedures to correct discrepancies between the upper and lower jaws. I recommend everyone I know to Dr. Larrabee! If you know anyone who is in need of braces, and want someone who is really good... check him out! There is never a charge for consultations!

Santa Shoot

We had a little 2 year girl and a 7 year old boy come to the studio for our Santa shoot. They were dressed in their holiday outfits, ready to see Santa. I had them by themselves and got a great shot of them without Santa. Then I had Santa come around the corner without them knowing and got a great shot. Once they turned around and saw Santa, we lost the little girl. She covered her face and was not going to be in the picture with Santa. That was it!! I was glad we were able to get one shot with Santa in the picture! You just never know with little children! :)

The Nutcracker

The cast from The Nutcracker came into the studio for a cover shoot for Kids Celebrate Magazine. We had a great time with the photo session. These are a very talented group of kids and I definitely and taking my son to see one of the performances. The performances are on Friday, December 18 and 19th. We had a great time photographing children with Santa. This was the first year having Santa visit the studio. Remember your little furry friends can visit with Santa too! Santa will be coming back to the Studio on Sunday, November 22nd from 9-1:30. So, if you missed this past weekends visit, be sure to call and reserve your spot! A portion of the proceeds will help the children at Cardon Children's Medical Center. Packages are only $100-.

6 month session with Mady

We had another awesome studio session with this little angel! We met and photographed Mady when she was a newborn and now she is already 6 months old! I can't believe how the time flies! She is such a little cutey and was a delight to photograph. We were able to get some great images of Mady that her family will have forever!

Portraits of Love Project

This is my first session for the Portraits of Love Project. We had 3TV and Arizona Republic here at the studio taping and photographing our session with Marie and her kids. This will be aired in the near future. Marie was kind enough to agree to the taping of her session. She got to talk about her husband who is deployed in the Army and will not be home until May 2010. The children were awesome and handled it very well. Here is one of my favorite images from the session. Marie will have a chance to pick out her favorite image and it will be sent to her husband who will receive the image around the holidays. Thank you again Marie for your participation in jumpstarting this project for this month.

This child is such a special little boy. He was so much fun to photograph. I photographed him outdoors when he was a baby, and now to see him at 3 years of age was a thrill. He was like a little man already! His mom brought in all of the things he is interested in. Wanting to document this time of his life. Time flies and we have a tendency to forget what our childrens interests are. It is such a joy to see my clients year after year and to see them grow up right before my lens is amazing! I love being a part of their lives, it means so much to me. I just love my job!

Talon- Newborn shoot

We had a newborn session with Taylor and Jerry and their new baby, Talon. We did Taylor's maternity session a couple of months ago, and they brought Talon in for his 1st session. Talon did so well for his first time in the studio, he only went to the bathroom on his parents 2 times!! We had a great time, they are an awesome, fun couple. Thank you so much for your services at our wedding on Friday, March 13th, 2009. Bryan and I are very pleased with the way our photos turned out. You were able to make a moderate not fancy venue, and make our pictures look spectacular. I was very pleased with the way you communicated with me before the wedding. You were able to get the information you needed and understood what I wanted to make sure everything was planned and organized when it came to who would be in what pictures. I was happy that you were reasonably priced (now wishing we had the extra money to spend on more pictures). I was very pleased that you showed up early to the venue to search for great settings for our pictures and was very happy with the way you assisted the wedding party during pictures.

Overall, Christina I appreciate your professionalism and your great artistic eye for photography. New York, New York! My husband and I went to New York with some friends for the first time! We had the best time, we tried to cram as many sites in as possible in the 4 days we were there. We met very interesting people. We were up at out at 8am and didn't get into the hotel until after 1am. This is definitely a place we would love to revisit. Here are some of my favorite memories from our trip.

I just want to thank those of you who had helped me with my new site. To my surprise it was fairly easy to do. A special thank you to my friends Bob and Connie for encouraging me and showing how to get started with the site. It took me longer than I had anticipated though, going through several images and trying to choose the right songs for the galleries. But I am finally glad it's up and running. Now my family can have their wife and mom back.. :)
